Copy-min/max

Copy-min/max lists a minimum/maximum value for the number of copies of a title. A minimum and a maximum for the number of copies of the same title can be defined for each item grouping (or for the individual definitions in the item grouping). The objective of these min/max indications is to control how many copies (duplicates) are wanted of the various titles.

To distinguish these min/max indications from the meter-related view of the location’s stock levels (see meter-min/max), these new indications are called Copy-min and Copy-max, respectively. Copy-min and copy-max are represented by natural numbers.

For configuration of the item grouping/definition, the following applies: 0 ≤ Copy-min ≤ Copy-max
Example: Copy-min = 1, Copy-max = 3

This means that at least one copy of each title is requested, but no more than 3. These limit values are interpreted by the intelligent distribution algorithm and are dependent on the title’s strategy consequences.

Please note: Copy-min and Copy-max are listed for each specific item grouping at the branch, and likewise, the number of copies is also calculated for each item grouping. If items with the same title are located in different item groupings at the same branch, then the current quantity for each of the item groupings is calculated and compared to the Copy-min/max of each item grouping.

Copy min/max may be listed for specific individual definitions for an item grouping. If an item matches multiple definitions of an item grouping, then the Copy-min/max of the first definition it matches is used. If Copy-min/max is not listed for the definition, then default values are used; these can be set for an item grouping, a branch, and/or an entire municipality. The “lowest level” where a value is listed is used. Copy-min/max can be specified for an item grouping by using an individual value for each limit. For branch or municipal default values, Copy-min/max may be listed individually for each combination of classification group and department type.
