Discard codes

Discard codes are transmitted to IMMS from the LMS and are used in IMMS to indicate the reason for the discard of an item. Examples of discard codes include “Missing”, “Replaced”, “Discarded”, etc.

Since the LMS defines the discard codes, it is not possible to edit/create them in IMMS. However, it is possible to indicate in IMMS whether or not an individual discard code is active in IMMS. If a discard code is inactive, it is hidden in IMMS (e.g. in lists of options in the web client). This is typically used for discard codes that have been transmitted from the LMS but are not actually in use.

Note: Missing and discarded items are not treated the same way. Items discarded with the discard code from Parameter: Discard code for "not found" are considered missing and will be automatically reinstated into the stock, if IMMS receives a sortation registration for the item.
Read more about registration of discarded items in the section Warning of questionable item movements.
