A transport unit always has a status that indicates its current condition. The possible statuses are defined on the system level using the IMMS web client and can be used at all branches.
Each status includes an indication of whether items with that particular status are to be considered as available or unavailable. This has an impact on an item’s placement type, which controls whether/how an item can appear on pick lists, etc.
You cannot specify an item’s status directly. When an item has been placed inside a transport unit it inherits the transport unit’s status. When an item has not been placed inside a transport unit, the item has no status. There is no correlation between IMMS statuses and LMS statuses (on loan, discarded...).
IMMS continuously sends information about the status of items and the items’ resulting availability to the LMS.
