Parameter: Central sorter branch

Data type:
Branch
Can be empty:
Yes
Can be set at the system level:
Yes
Can be set at the branch level:
No

Description

This parameter specifies which branch has a central sorter. If central sorting is not used, the parameter must be left empty.

When central sorting is used, all items going from one branch to another are initially sent to the branch with the central sorter, where they are then sent onward after being sorted. This also means that items en route to the central sorter do not need to be separated according to the item’s final destination.

If central sorting is not used, the items are shipped directly between the individual branches. Moreover, the items must be sent divided into the destination types “Shelving”, “Holds shelf”, “Special handling”, and “Exhibition”.
