Parameter: Items for holds marked "Special handling" are kept separate

Data type:
Yes/no
Can be empty:
No
Can be set at the system level:
Yes
Can be set at the branch level:
Yes

Description

This parameter specifies whether items that either need to be picked or fulfill a hold, which are marked “Special handling” by the LMS, must be kept separate from other items that fulfill a hold. (Read more about the expected breakdown of items in “Item transit and sorting”).

If this parameter is set on “No”, any “Special handling” label on the holds will in practice be ignored by IMMS.

Please note: This parameter affects the calculation of pick orders, which means if the parameter’s value is changed, it will not have any immediate effect on pick orders that have already been calculated. The change will be reflected the next time IMMS recalculates the pick order - typically, the next time the LMS updates the hold.

This parameter is also used by the reception validation. It is therefore important that this parameter’s setting is compatible with the item sorting carried out, e.g., in an automated sorting facility.
