Reception validation

You can perform reception validation of transport units with the mobile unit.

Reception validation is the process where you based your current branch (the reception branch), ask IMMS where the items in a transport unit should go. IMMS will tell where the items are supposed to go on the branch (holds shelf, special handling, exhibition or shelving). IMMS will also tell if the items were supposed to go to another branch, or if the items in the transport unit should be separated before the subsequent handling.

In the mobile client, reception validation is called "Check correct delivery of transport unit".

If the transport unit is currently placed on another branch, the mobile client will generate a registration to move the transport unit to the reception branch.

Calculation of destination for a single item

Basically, items can have 4 different destinations within a branch (also see the topic Item movements and sorting):

Furthermore, the items can be destined either for the reception branch or for another branch, which amounts to a total of 8 different outcomes:

Holds shelf – this branch:
If the item is taken for a hold, which is not marked for special handling, and the hold's pickup branch matches the reception branch.
Holds shelf – other branch:
If the item is taken for a hold, which is not marked for special handling, and the hold's pickup branch does not match the reception branch.
Special handling – this branch:
If the item is taken for a hold, which is marked for special handling, and the hold's pickup branch matches the reception branch.
Special handling – other branch:
If the item is taken for a hold, which is marked for special handling, and the hold's pickup branch does not match the reception branch.
Exhibition – this branch:
If the item is assigned to an exhibition on the reception branch.
Exhibition – other branch:
If the item is assigned to an exhibition not on the reception branch.
Shelving – this branch:
If the item is assigned to the reception branch, or if the item is not assigned and the item matches an item grouping on the reception branch.
Shelving – other branch:
If the item is assigned to another branch, or if the item is not assigned and the item does not match an item grouping on the reception branch.

Reception validation of transport units

The principle is to first calculate the destination for each of the individual items in the transport unit as described above and then calculate a combined conclusion for the entire transport unit:

Empty:
If the transport unit is empty.
Wrong branch:
If at least one item is destined for holds shelf, special handling or exhibition on another branch. Also if at least one item is assigned to be shelved at another branch and the transport unit does not contain at least one item destined for holds shelf, special handling or exhibition on the reception branch.
Mixed content – reject:
If all the items should go to the reception branch, but there are combinations of destinations within the branch (holds shelf, special handling, exhibition and shelving), which are not allowed according to the configuration.
Mixed content – separate:
If all the items should go to the reception branch, and there are only combinations allowed according to the configuration.
Holds shelf:
If all the items should go to the holds shelf on the reception branch.
Special handling:
If all the items should go to special handling on the reception branch.
Exhibition:
If all the items should go to exhibitions on the reception branch.
Shelving:
If all the items should be shelved on the reception branch.

Configuration of the reception validation

The logic in the reception validation is controlled by these parameters available on both system and branch level:
