Parameter: Time limit for correction orders for items in item groupings in violation of the strategy consequence

Data type:
Numeric (number of days)
Can be empty:
Yes
Can be set at the system level:
Yes
Can be set at the branch level:
No

Description

The parameter controls whether the automatic error correction creates error correction orders for items placed in an item grouping where the strategy consequence prohibits this.

If the parameter is not set, no error correction orders are created.

If the parameter is set, the value indicates how much time must pass before error correction orders are created for misplaced items.

This is calculated in whole days, measured from the latest registration for the item until the time when the job handling the error correction is run (typically runs at night). If the parameter is set on 0, all of the relevant items are error corrected during the next run. If the parameter is set on 1, items that have been inactive for at least 1 day, etc., are error corrected.

If the item is registered in the system again before the time limit expires, the item is not error corrected.

Details about the error correction

Items can be wrongly placed in the item grouping, either because the strategy consequence mandates that the items should always go to a media hotel, or because copies-min or copies-max has been exceeded, and the strategy consequence doesn't allow that.

Meter-max is not considered, as this is a separate problem.

The complex strategy consequences, which dictate that a certain number or fraction of the copies of a title should be kept in a media hotel, are handled by treating the parameter as being zero. This is because the purpose of the error correction orders isn't to replenish the media hotel – only to remove items wrongly placed in the item groupings.

This leads to the following handling of the strategy consequences:

When error correction orders are created in order to reduce the number of copies in an item grouping, items having been without movement the longest time are chosen first.
